KARACHI: Leading dramatist and playwright Haseena Moin has passed away in Karachi.
As per media reports she breathed her last this morning as she was battling cancer for the past few years. She was 79.
Her funeral will be held at her residence in North Nazimabad after Asr.
She wrote many plays for radio and television in Pakistan and abroad. Haseena Moin was also awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence by the Government of Pakistan.
Haseena Moin also wrote dialogues for the Indian film Henna at the behest of Raj Kapoor, which was released in 1991. On August 14, 1987, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Excellence by the Government of Pakistan.
People from all segments of society including politicians and artists have expressed deep grief over her death praying may Allah rest her soul in eternal peace
