Emissions of the lava from Europe’s highest active volcano have resumed now with lava rising several meters into the air with a big sound of explosions. According to the official reports, there is no danger from the eruption of lava as previous from the volcano as the outgoing lava is heading towards an empty area. Lava is actually molten rock with a temperature of up to 1200 degrees Celsius and it moves by millimating everything it encounters. But fortunately, it’s flow is very slow and people can easily run away from it. This scene illuminates the Sicilian’s sky at night. Here, life under the shadow of Etna is a mixture of complexity and emotions. Mount Etna or Mongibello in Europe is the highest active stratovolcano located on the east coast of Sicily in between the two cities Messina and Catania. In 1983, a stream of lava flowed south of Antenna Peak which completely destroyed a restaurant en route which was rebuilt in two years later. This uncommon Etna is the most active lava in Europe and often erupts. The previous major eruption was in 1992. Scientists at the University of Catania in Italy have long since announced that Mount Etna, which the world considers to be a volcano, is not a volcano but something else, and could possibly be said to be a huge body of hot water. The water here is very hot and hot springs keep boiling all around which the world expresses its views as lava. Meanwhile, about 60 volcanoes erupt worldwide each year. Some are known in advance, but some startle everyone as Etna. However, more than two thousand people have been killed by volcanoes since 2000. Most of the deaths occurred in the Philippines, Indonesia, Congo and Japan. Last year, some tourists in Italy lost their lives in a volcanic eruption.
