Usually, Sindh university conducts entry test every year. But in academic year 2021, it didn’t take entry test due to corona outbreak. It announced new grade policy this year in which selection-criteria for students was 60% on intermediate and 40% on matric. Unfortunately, aforementioned policy seemed unfair to those students who secured C and D grade in matric and intermediate. Commonly, students who had C grade even D grade in matric and inter, got the high level departments such as English and pharmacy through entry test. This new policy is injustice to the students who got lower grades in their respective fields. This policy of university was not good as compared to entry test. Besides, it sold many of seats on self-finance quota. What happened in this policy was nothing but injustice to poor students and demerit was on the rise. One who was rich, got the seat on finance. But poor remained poor. The University should have taken entry test after Corona was gone. What would happen for those who are poor and secured C and D grades and didn’t get allocation in the university? Can justice be done with these students? Because of not conducting entry test, poor and competent students have been badly affected. It is, therefore, requested that the university should avoid such policies in future so that competent and poor students can get admission in their desired department.
