To kill one’s own mother, to kill an ordinary innocent Muslim unjustly is a grave sin, but to kill the whole of humanity is to kill a great being like a mother. This is extremely unfortunate and vicious. Parents have a very high position in Islam, they are forbidden to scold, shake or even say ah. Parents are very kind to their children. From motherhood to death, there is maternal compassion and paternal support. Their favors are innumerable, and no one can repay them. The Qur’an calls only the kindness of the mother which she carries in her womb “Wahan Ali Wahan”, meaning trouble upon trouble. It is a divine command We admonished man concerning his parents, his mother carried him in her womb, and weaned him in two years, thanking him and his parents. “Come back to me.” That is why Allah has commanded to be kind to the parents, so it is one of the duties for the children. Anyone who fails to do so will be considered a disobedient parent and a major sinner. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: The punishment of every sin is postponed by Allah Almighty for whomever He wills till the Day of Resurrection except oppression and disobedience of parents or breaking of relationship because Allah Almighty punishes it in the life of the sinner before death. He said the same “There are two sins that are punished in this world, and that is cruelty and disobedience to parents.”Disobeying or oppressing one’s parents is a grave sin. It is such a great sin that its punishment starts from this world and will continue till the Hereafter. In another hadith, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: There are three people whom Allah will not look at on the Day of Resurrection: disobedient to their parents, a woman who imitates men and a deity (dishonorable husband), and three people will not enter Paradise. Disobedient to their parents. Always a drinker and a benefactor. Such a person also deserves the curse of Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Cursed be his father and mother (Saheeh Al-Targheeb: 2420) Translation: He who disobeys his parents is accursed. No deed of such a person is acceptable in the sight of Allah, neither obligatory nor supererogatory. May Allah guide us all. Amen
