Muzaffarabad,(Parliament Times) : Advocate Supreme Court Vice Chairman Azad Jammu and Kashmir Bar Council Khawaja Muhammad Maqbool War has said that any attempt to undermine the judiciary and its independence would be foiled at any cost. Referring to the role of president and prime minister War alleged that the Presidency was ‘bent on locking up the High Court and the Supreme Court and wrapping up the judiciary’. He said the judicial crisis the President has been creating has taken a serious turn. “His role against the judiciary is dangerous and reprehensible”, War said adding that the federation has taken an oath of allegiance to the constitution and law and justice. “The lawyers community will thwart any attempt to undermine the judiciary and will not allow any conspiracies to succeed under any circumstances”, he added.
He said the federal government should take immediate notice of their conspiracies. Disabling judges and not allowing them to function freely is the hallmark of the President and the Prime Minister. He has tarnished the image of government institutions during his five-year tenure and now a failed attempt is being made to kill the judiciary. He said that the Bar Council has no likes and dislikes and has no friendship or relationship with any judge. The Bar Council strives only for the supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of law and the supremacy of justice.
