Off late, Dr Shaher Bano lost her life in an accident on a highway of Balochistan. The highways of Balochistan have converted into death trap due to the poor construction and singal lane. Dr Kaiser Bengali, in his book A Cry for Justice: Empirical Insights from Balochistan (2018), suggests that all highways in Balochistan must be four-lane dual carriageways. However, most of the highways over here are singal lane. The singal lane highway from Quetta to Karachi is known as “The Killer Highway” due to excess of accidents. According to reports, Balochistan has suffered more from accidents than terrorism. Therefore, I plea the government to look after this issue for preventing further lives in Balochistan.
