ISLAMABAD: Dr Moeed Yusuf, Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on national security has said there should be coherent economy between Pakistan and Afghanistan and both are having shared interests.
He said this while chairing a session of Pakistan-Afghanistan Track-II dialogue here Wednesday.
Both the sides exchanged views on peace process in Afghanistan at the meeting.
Dr Moeed Yusuf said Pakistan believes the economic prosperity of both the countries is interlinked. Pakistan wants to see Afghanistan economically vibrant.
He went on to say Pakistan is working on economic security. Peace in Afghanistan is must for forging contacts with the Central Asia due to which prosperity will come both in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
He underlined stable economic ties, visa facilities, trade and two border markets in Kurram and Chitral are the steps taken for the welfare of people of Afghanistan.
Afghan delegation said on the occasion efforts on the part of Pakistan for ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan are commendable. More headway will be made in economic ties and people to people contacts between the two counties, the delegation hoped.
