Rawalpindi (Parliament Times): The amusement parks are a guarantee not only of the beauty of our environment but also of the mental and physical beauty of the people, said Malik Abid Hussain, Vice Chairman Parks and Horticulture Authority Rawalpindi while talking during his visits to different parks in Khayaban Sir Syed Rawalpindi on the other day. He said our mission is to provide the healthy recreational environment for people by clearing parks across the city from all kinds of encroachments and other superstitions including debauchery. He directed the staff concerned to be honest with their duties and make special arrangements for cleaning the parks. He warned that if any kind of undesirable activity was reported in a par, action would be taken against the concerned staff as per law. “Parks are for the entertainment and relaxation of the people where smoking and other superstitions including wandering will not be tolerated at all”, he added. Malik Abid Hussain stated we have started a special campaign to make the Prime Minister’s “Clean and Green Pakistan Movement” a success. This campaign is not tied to anyone, but it is a nation-building effort in which every Pakistani has a responsibility to play his role transcending political and sectarian affiliations to make it a success for himself, his children and his country. He went around the different parks in the area and directed that the in-charge of each park should ensure that the benches, swings and other facilities are repaired immediately and every visitor to the park should return with a pleasant feeling and freshness. “We will create special flower beds inside the parks and equip each par with greenery and play an active role in eliminating environmental pollution,” he mentioned. On this occasion, the notables of the area also informed the Vice Chairman of PHA about their problems, to which Malik Abid Hussain said that he would play his role in resolving the public issues by contacting the concerned authorities.
