RAWALPINDI: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Nadeem Raza has met with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and other senior civil and military officials.
During these meetings stress was laid upon practical steps for bolstering security cooperation and expanding existing bilateral military to military cooperation with Tajikistan.
According to DG ISPR “ CJCSC on official visit to Tajikistan, called on Mr. Emomali Rahmon, President of Tajikistan. Held separate meetings with Defence Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs& Chairman State Committee of National Security. various areas of mutual interest , bilateral cooperation”.
In the meetings the regional atmosphere was also reviewed in the backdrop of Afghanistan.
Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Nadeem Raza said Pakistan wants to further expand military to military relations with Tajikistan.
Tajik leadership while lauding the professionalism of Pakistan armed forces said the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan army in war against terrorism are meritorious.
Earlier, upon arrival at Ministry of Defence, Chairman JCSC was accorded warm welcome and was presented Guard of Honour by contingent of Tajikistan’s Armed Forces.
