LAHORE: Former Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif and other accused have been indicted in money laundering case while Shahbaz Sharif has pleaded not guilty.
Admn Judge Jawad ul Hassan of Accountability Court (AC) indicted the accused persons on Wednesday.
NAB witnesses have also been summoned on next hearing.
Money laundering case came up for hearing in AC Lahore Wednesday.
During the hearing of the case, Shahbaz Sharif said “ I am opposition leader in National Assembly (NA) and false charges of money laundering have been leveled against me. Therefore, I reject all the allegations leveled by NAB. I am being victimized politically. I am head of a political party and due to this my political rivals are hatching conspiracy against me. Earlier in what cases I am indicted , these all cases are baseless.
Court was prayed on behalf of Shahbaz Sharif not to indict him today.
The court remarked on one hand you say the case is being delayed and on the other hand you are saying not to indict you today.
The court also directed Shahbaz Sharif to give reply to the questions laid down in the charge sheet.
The judge remarked “ you please bring with you this questionnaire and give your reply comfortably.
The judge remarked “file the copy of your refusal so that the routine proceedings could be started.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case till November 26.
The court summoned NAB witnesses for recording their evidence.
