LAHORE: Prime Minister Imran Khan is scheduled to inaugurate the newly constructed Hassanabdal Railway Station on Friday (tomorrow), according to a spokesperson for Pakistan Railways.
The station, which is significant for the transport of thousands of Sikh pilgrims to Gurdwara Panja Sahib each year, has been constructed for Rs 250 million. It consists of two floors and covers an area of 24,502 square feet.
Construction of the station is part of the Rs 1.1 billion ‘Up-gradation of Railway Stations to attract Sikh Tourism at Narowal, Nankana Sahib and Hassanabdal’ project that was launched in April 2017 and completed on Sept 30 this year.
