QUETTA: The intentions of the anti-national hostile elements were shattered, as the security forces have foiled a major terrorist plot in Balochistan and seized huge caches of explosives used in improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
According to the sources, the security forces conducted the operation on information of presence of banned outfit of Tehreek-e-Taliban members and storage of explosives.
They while foiling a major terrorist plot, recovered explosives including remote detonators, ball bearings, wires and other materials from Qamaruddin Karez area.
These explosives were recently brought from Afghanistan. It has further been learnt that banned outfit of Tehreek-e-Taliban had planned to conduct terrorist activities in Quetta and Zhob.
Furthermore, the recovered explosives included eight landmines weighing 6-8 kilograms.
