    Not scared of opposition protest movement: PM

    ISLAMABAD:   Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has once again said in unequivocal terms that he is not fearful of Opposition protest movement and his government will complete its constitutional tenure at every cost.

    “ We are not scared of opposition parties protest movement. Opposition has no street power. People still are looking towards PTI. No one knows the art of gathering people better than him”, he said this during his meeting with Special Assistant for PM on parliamentary affairs Babar Awan who called on PM in PM House here Thursday.

    Both the leaders exchanged views on a set of issues including agenda of National Assembly (NA), Senate sessions starting from Friday and overall political situation of the country.

    Babar Awan took PM into confidence on different legal and constitutional matters.

    PM directed Babar Awan to prefer legislation in the public interest.
    Sources said that the matter of issuance of notice to PM by Supreme Court a day before also came under discussion in the meeting.
    Babar Awan gave PM briefing in details on important legal and constitutional points.

    PM Imran Khan said his government respects judiciary. We have rendered unprecedented sacrifices for supremacy of law and constitution in the country. The country can not go ahead without the supremacy of law and constitution.

    He underlined protests are the right of opposition but government will complete its constitutional tenure at every cost.

    He held the opposition agenda is not aimed at raising voice for resolution of problems facing the people but it is meant for pulling down the government.

    Oppositions wants to achieve what objectives by targeting state institutions, PM questioned. I will confront opposition tooth and nail , he announced.

    He said he is fully alive to price hike issue. Action will be initiated against “Mehngai mafia”, no matter how stronger it may be.
