Minhas urges Barrister Sultan to refrain from levelling baseless allegations


Bagh: (Parliament Times) Taking strong exception to PTI-AJK president Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chudhary’s recent statement in which he had accused the AJK government of embezzling billions of rupees, Minister for Information, Tourism, Sports and Youth Affairs Raja Mushtaq Ahmad Minhas has said that levelling such kind of a groundless allegation was a conspiracy against national institutions. In a statement issued here on Friday, the information minister while giving the details of the relief package that was granted for the LoC victims said that the PTI chief’s allegations were nothing but a pack of lies. “As a matter of the fact, the LoC package will be implemented jointly by the Azad Kashmir government and the Pakistan Army; a grant of 11 crore rupees was released a few days ago and not a single rupee has been spent on the project yet”, he said adding that to whom Barrister was trying to please by levelling such baseless allegations. Minhas made it clear that work on the LoC package with the cooperation of the Armed Forces of Pakistan would start from the current financial year. Barrister Sultan’s accusation sans proper investigations he said was nothing but malicious propaganda to discredit the prestigious institution of Pakistan Army and the elected government. Urging Barrister Sultan to refrain from spreading chaos Minhas said, “The LoC is home to over six lac people who have been fighting the Indian aggression with courage and bravery for decades and are doing their duty to defend the homeland”. The LOC package he said was approved by the Government of Pakistan on the proposal of the Government of Azad Kashmir. He said that the Government of Pakistan has approved a scheme of Rs. 3.61 billion under PSDP under which Rs. 564 million has been allocated under this program for the current financial year and on September 1, 2020, the first tranche of 112.8 million has been released. He said that work on the LOC package will begin soon saying that the project will be a revolutionary breakthrough in terms of construction and development and basic needs in these areas.
