Nobody can imagine to weaken the AJK State Press : Ershad Mehmood

MIRPUR (AJK),(Parliament Times): Expressing grave concern and regret over the recent alleged manhandling of a veteran Kashmiri Journalist and Editor of an Islamabad-based Kashmiri daily, Mr. Ejaz Abbasi in the office of PID in Islamabad by certain office staffers and blacking out the Kashmiri newspapers of the public advertisements on August 5, this year by the PID, Pakistan, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf AJK Central Secretary Information Ershad Mehmood said that the PTI always believed in the freedom of Press in Pakistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, Ershad said that his organization strongly condemn such low-profile approach, misbehavior and violence against a distinguished Kashmiri Journalist allegedly on the part of the federal PID officials.
He demanded of the Ministry of Information to hold an immediate independent probe into the tragic incident to make the realities public.
Ershad Mehmood said that the PTI AJK leadership was in-touch with Federal Information Ministry desiring an early emicable solution of the issue.
The PTI AJK Info. Secretary underlined that the Kashmiri newspapers always performed a remarkable role to highlight the Kashmir Freedom Movement both at home and abroad, besides other national issues confronted by the country.
“The Kashmiri media is our first line of defense and we would never accept any move to weaken them or throwing them into isolation at any cost”, he cateogircally said.
Ershad Mehmood expressed the hope that the issue would soon be resolved through mutual understanding and talks.
