Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) Assistant Commissioner, Murree Zahid Hussain has said that under the directives of Chief Minister Punjab beautification project of murree is being implemented in letter and spirit to keep the beautiful recreational spot lush and green. Giving details, he said that massive tree plantation is being carried out at different points of Murree to bring maximum area under green cover. Mr. Zahid Hussain said that tree plantation prevents land erosion and landslides which cause huge losses of lives and properties. He was of the view that the prime objective of Clean and Green Pakistan Programme is to promote forestry because we can avert the challenges of climate change through plantation. Assistant Commissioner Murree informed that focal points of Murree had been selected for afforestation and beautification. He said that saplings of flower plants were being planted at important crossings and prominent places of Murree.
