MIRPUR, (Parliament Times): Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan, senior judge of the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, will take the oath of office as the acting Chief Justice of the apex court in a simple but impressive ceremony in AJK’s capital town on Wednesday – April 1st, it was officially announced. He was appointed as acting Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of AJK in place of Chief Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Ibrahim Zia, who was retired from service on Tuesday (March 31) on maturity of the stipulated age for retirement, an AJK govt. statement issued on Tuesday said.
The AJK govt. department of law, justice and parliamentary affairs Tuesday issued the notification of the appointment of Raja Saeed Akram Khan as acting Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu & Kashmir. The acting Chief Justice designate of AJK Raja Saeed Akram Khan will take the oath of his office as acting Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu & Kashmir at a brief and simple ceremony to be held in AJK’s metropolis because of the current wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan will administer oath to Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan as the acting Chief Justice of Supreme Court of AJK.
