RAWALPINDI: (Parliament Times) Special Communications Organization (SCO), the largest telecom network of Azad
Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan has organized a tree plantation drive at Pakistan
Sweet Homes Islamabad. The campaign was led by SCO brand ambassadors, Mr. Usman
Mukhtar renowned actor, Ms. Maryam Mujtaba, first female commercial pilot from AJ&K
and people with disability from respective NGOs. Saplings of Pine, Jasmine, Guava, and
Mulberry trees were planted.
Patron in Chief Pakistan Sweet Homes Mr. Zammurrad Khan and senior officials of
SCO were also present. Children of sweet homes planted saplings with an aim to make a
clean & green Pakistan. The event was held as a part of SCO cooperate social
responsibility initiative-Islamabad Chapter, through which trees are being planted to
mitigate the effects of climate change.
SCO through this drive, bolstered their focus on creating awareness and a sense of
responsibility among society for preserving and nurturing the environment. Last year, over
a million trees were planted under “Sarsabz-O-Shadab” campaign in AJ&K and GB region.
