Rawalpindi:    District Transport Board has opened the transport route from Rawalpindi to new Islamabad Airport in order to immediately resolve the travelling difficulties of citizens and immigrants.

Immediate applications have also been sought from transporters and parties interested in transport business in order to issue the route.

Upon the rule of “First come, first served” new route permits will be issued for travelling to new Islamabad airport.

District Transport board has given a formal approval of this decision during a meeting held under Deputy Commissioner Saifullah Dogar
According to this decision, these transport routes for new Islamabad Airport are being started from 2 places of Rawalpindi.
First route will be started from Rawat to New Islamabad airport while the other will be from Koral Chowk Islamabad express way to new Islamabad airport.

Total fare of these two routes will be of Rs 200 per person while stop to stop fare is recommended as Rs 50.

There will be 20 overall stops of both routes, 10 for each.
According to transport board, easy conditions have been kept for these routes under which buses should be air conditioned and there must be a cabin alongside buses to place big luggage on side.
It is necessary that buses have appropriate height and length and model of bus should not be older than 2 years.
3 or 4 categories of fare will be made and there will be total 10 stops upon fixed route each.
Rawat, Sawan bus stand, Kachehri Chowk, Saddar Metro Central Station, MH, Chohar Chowk has been included in the route.
