ZHOB: Sports week organized by the government-run school New Town that started last week came to an end here on Monday. Out-door games were part of the annual inter-school seven-day sports competitions. Adviser to CM Balochistan Mitha Khan Kakar was chief guest of the closing ceremony. He was flanked by acting school headmaster Abdullah Shah Mandokhail, Deputy Director Dr. Naseebullah Kakar, XEN Hashim Kakar, Shah Zaman Kakar, Khair Muhammad Mandokhail and Ajab Khan Kakar. The ceremony was attended by school teachers, students and youth from the district in a large number.

Abdullah Shah Mandokhail, the school headmaster in his welcome speech said that the aim of the event was to promote sports activities among the students and engage them in healthy and positive activities where they can prove their mettle.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Adviser Mitha Khan Kakar termed the sports activities extremely important for the youth and said he was pleased to see the students with their excellent sporting skills.

“The students are the country‘s future and the sports inculcates enthusiasm, spirit and discipline among them,” adding he was thrilled to see the passion and keen interest of the students in sporting activities. He said.
CM Adviser on the occasion said that education was the top priority of the provincial government led by CM Jam Kamal. For the purpose Rs 40 million allocated for the construction, repair and up gradation of different schools, Rs 50 million for Model high school and Rs 40 million for the New Town school in the current fiscal year.

“Establishment of a sub-campus of the Sardar Bahadur Khan women university is also in progress. All the promises made with the masses would soon be fulfilled,” he added.

Meanwhile, trophies were distributed among the winner and runner-up team and prizes among the winners of different events.
