Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Saif Ullah Dogar has said that students have always played an active role in the elimination of problems faced by society and in the current situation students of Rawalpindi should come forward and play a leading role by creating awareness about Polio and Dengue.
He expressed these views in a seminar held at Govt. Girls Degree College, B Block, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi in connection with the International Polio Day. AC city Naeem Afzal, Principal Azra Parveen, students and teachers of the college were present in a large number.
DC Saif Ullah Dogar said that polio and dengue are a challenge for the people of Rawalpindi and a comprehensive strategy has been evolved and being implemented with the support of all segments of society to eliminate both diseases. He said the children of Rawalpindi is secured from polio virus despite presence of polio virus in the environmental samples of Rawalpindi and the credit of this goes to the successful anti polio campaigns. He said students should spread the message of polio and dengue awareness to every home and play helpful role for the administration to eliminate them.
Principal Azra Parveen said that students and teachers are playing an active role in the elimination of dengue and polio. She said in the current situation these efforts have been intensified to get speedy results. She said that zero priod is being held in all educational institutions to create awareness in the students about the dengue control.
Later, DC Saif Ullah Dogar led a walk of students of the college to mark the International Polio Day.
