RAWALPINDI: In compliance with the orders of Director Military Lands and Cantonment Department (ML&CD) regarding the posting of the temporary and lower grade employee on the post of the building checker, the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board has changed all the building checker but kept blind eye toward the building super checker.
According to details, the Headquarter ML&CD in letter No 92/197/ADG(Est)/ML&C/2015 dated October 15, 2019 had issued order to all the cantonment board to assign the duty of the building checking only to those building checkers who have been regularly appointed as building checkers, no temporary employee will be assigned the duties of building checker.

It is further stated that if regular building checkers are non-existent or deficient in number then they should be recruited against existing vacancies.

Moreover, these duties will not be assigned also to the permanent LDC junior staff. If the existing vacancies are deficient in number, new vacancies should be created and sent to RHQ for approval and recruitment process should be initiated.

Director ML&CD Fahim Zafar Khan in his letter No. 28/117/DRR/2 dated Oct 17, 2019 director the cantonment board to complete the whole process within 8-6 weeks and must not be delay.

In compliance of these order the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has immediately changed the building inspectors of almost all wards of the RCB jurisdiction but interestingly did not took any action against the building super checker who is blacksmith by his designation.

Sources said that the RCB authorities are misleading the higher authorities and protecting the building super checker Naseer Yousaf, who is also accused of getting heavy bribe money from multiple illegal constructions.

When contacted, RCB Secretary and Spokesperson Qaiser Mahmood said, super checker post is not created however, it as an additional job that was assigned by the then concerned hierarchy, after the said order all such orders are to be nullified.

He added, written orders in compliance with the said order issued by the headquarter are in the issuance stage.
