RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Police on Saturday has arrested a Police Volunteer (Qaumi Razakar) allegedly involved in the smuggling of liquor and recovered five hundred liters of liquor from the accused.

According to details, the Police received information from the informers that a Quami Razakar namely Ahsan Khan, working in uniform with the police station Race Course is not only involved in the business of liquor but also smuggled liquor.

Police conducted a raid under the supervision of Superintendent of Police (SP) Pothohar Syed Ali and recovered five hundred liters of liquor from Ahsan Khan and arrested him. A case has been registered against the accused with the police station Sadiqabad.

In another incident, police have also arrested the leader of a gang, involved in street crime in different areas of the city.

According to police spokesperson, the arrested accused ‘Bilal alias Billa’ is the ringleader of notorious “Billa Dacoit Gang” who committed robbery in Rabbani Town a day earlier and the motorcycle used in the crime has also been recovered.

The SP told that the gang, operated by the accused ‘Bilal alias Billa’, is involved in various street crimes in the Twin Cities, Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The City Police Officer (CPO) Faisal Rana directed officials that after the arrest of the ringleader of “Billa Dacoit Gang” the other members of the gang must also be arrested within the next 24 hours.
