Islamabad: The Rawalpindi Cantonment board (RCB) under its ongoing campaign against water charges defaulters had recovered over Rs 8.0 million from the consumers during the ongoing month of September.

According to details, the Board officials on the directives of chief executive officer launched a campaign to recover water dues outstanding against the consumers in different areas including Tench Bata, Range Road, Bakra Mandi, Sadar, Naseerabad, West-ridge and other areas.

On the other hand RCB’s anti-Dengue campaign was in full swing. Surveillance teams after visiting different areas of the Cant have checked 8656 containers out of which dengue larva found in 18 places was destroyed on the spot. Meanwhile, the outdoor teams have visited different tire shops, factories, shops, and hotels, plazas located in different areas of the Cant including British Homes, West-Ridge, Gwalmandi, Azizabad, Kamal Abad, Ghaziabad, Dhok Sayedan, Peshawar Road, Chuhar Chowk and Saham. Dengue larva was recovered from six locations, which was successfully destroyed.

RCB’s Food Branch officials also checked 28 food points in different areas of Cant including Sadar, Peshawar Road, Allahabad. Show cause notices were issued to the owners of 16 food points for poor cleanliness arrangements and operating without licenses. The visiting team had collected samples of 10 food items that were sent to the laboratory for testing. The Food Branch staff is operating on a daily basis in various areas of the Cant to make sure that eateries and restaurants maintain hygiene standards.
