RAWALPINDI: Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa has said martyrs are our identification and the journey from independence of Pakistan to survival of Pakistan is decorated with unprecedented sacrifices rendered by martyrs.
He said this while addressing a ceremony at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi Friday.
Earlier, the Army Chief laid a floral wreath at the martyrs’ monument.
Bereaved families of the martyrs were invited to attend the main ceremony.
A documentary was also presented on the occasion which comprised brief interviews of families of martyrs.
He held “ the entire nation presents salute to the martyrs. Seeing the courage of families of martyrs, I have been encouraged tremendously.
“ I say with full confidence that the sacrifices given by our martyrs will not go waste. Whenever need arose, the sons of soil responded to the call, he remarked.
A successful war against the terrorism is a precedent before all the world. No one can cast an evil eye on Pakistan as long as valiant of nation are there, he underlined.
He went on to say that Pakistan of today gives message of peace and security. Peace situation in Pakistan is better today. Pakistan has discharged its obligations in befitting manner. Now it is responsibility of world nations to reject extremism practically.
He said “ we have always strived for abiding peace in Afghanistan. Peace in Afghanistan guarantees for peace in Pakistan.
Army chief underlined that terrorism in Occupied Kashmir is at its peak. Blatant violations of human rights in Indian held Kashmir is matter of grave concern for international organizations. He added. Kashmir issue should be resolved as per UN resolutions.
Indian barbarism and brutalities are on rise in Occupied Kashmir, he said adding we are fully alive to the woes and miseries of our Kashmiri brethren and sisters in Occupied Kashmir.
He observed Kashmir of today has become victim of atrocities and tyrannies of Indian government, follower of Hindutva. Kashmir valley is blazing in the fire of tyranny.
Army chief said the attack launched by the today’s Indian leadership on Occupied Kashmir by dint of religious extremism, hatred and force is doubtlessly a test for us and the whole humanity.
“I want to make it clear that Kashmir is incomplete agenda in completion of Pakistan. We will never leave Kashmiris alone and at the mercy of situation.
After war against terrorism, war is now continuing against poverty, ignorance and backwardness, he held.
A peaceful , vibrant and developed Pakistan is our destination and we are persisting on this journey with full strategy and perseverance , he remarked.
