SARGODHA: Faculty members, staffers and students of Sargodha University came out of their offices and classrooms on Friday and held a massive rally at the main campus to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir suffering unprecedented atrocities perpetrated by Indian armed forces against them.

They called United Nations, human rights organizations and the international community to take concrete actions for ending the grave human rights violations in the Indian Occupied Kashmir. The University faculty, staffers and students also held minute’s silence in tribute to the martyrs of Kashmir and resolved to support people in Kashmir at every platform.
On the occasion, national anthems of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir were played while the students were chanting pro-freedom slogans to give a message to the world that Kashmiri people are not alone their fight for freedom but the people of Pakistan are standing by their side.
The prime minister further said it was important to understand the type of government in India which was oppressing people. “We need to understand the ideology of RSS [Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh]. This was a party which was motivated by hatred for Muslims. This party was inspired by Hitler’s Nazi party.”
The speakers at the rally urged the youth to raise voice for Kashmiris on social media and write articles in international media highlighting the Kashmir unrest and its implications for peace in South Asia.
The rally later joined other rallies held by people belonging to various spheres of life at the University Road, Sargodha.
