Kashmir Dispute and its True Perspective
By Andaleeb Sahir Butt
As a matter of fact, the sense of insecurity and mistrust were the major causes of rivalry between Indian and Pakistan whereas the unresolved political issues like Jammu & Kashmir dispute has always been the real cause of instability in the region. Of course the road of peace in South Aria is subjected to the resolution of the longstanding Kashmir Issue.
In the past, all attempts of socio-economic integration always proved futile mainly because of Indian obduracy and hegemonic deigns. It is quite obvious that without achieving political understanding an environment of trust cannot be evolved and the mistrust is the biggest problem between Pakistan and India. Over the evolution of the Kashmir dispute. Keeping in views the critical matters of relationship between Pakistan and India, particular attention is needed at three different levels: bilateral, regional and global. Therefore, the one sided Pakistanis optimism cannot work in isolation and India has to reciprocate positively for effective conclusion.
Of course, the perpetual escalation of tension all along LOC and Indian aggressive designs could bring the world to the nuclear disaster whereas on the other hand the positive and constructive attitude to resolve the long-lasting Kashmir dispute would certainly lead us towards new heights of peace and economic prosperity resulting into socio–economic development in sub-continent and greater South Asia.
In fact, Kashmir is a hard nut to be cracked so easily by any party of the dispute but despite that Kashmiris have revolted against the Indian rule and oppression many a times in the last seven decades of Indian illegal occupation and they have faced oppression and genocide from Indian occupied forces.
Pakistan always strives for a peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute without using force, and on the other hand India would never like to surrender its occupation of the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK). It is a difficult preposition altogether as there is a certain unrest and discomfort at Islamabad and New Dehli, if Kashmiris are facing certain genocide and humiliation by the Indian Occupation forces for decades.
Pakistanis and Kashmiris wish the resolution of Kashmir issue in accordance with the UN resolutions and purely on humanitarian basis, but India is continuously avoiding the peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute just to fulfill their nefarious designs.
Since wars and conflicts are not the permanent solution of this longstanding issue as nothing came out of the previous wars, India and Pakistan fought over Kashmir, therefore the only way forward is the multilateral negotiations, now its the duty of International community to compel India for starting a meaningful multilateral talks and at the same time India must be pressured to stop genocide and killings of the innocent people in Occupied Kashmir. The gross human rights violations by India must be condemned internationally and India must be asked to demilitarize the Occupied Kashmir paving the way to start negotiation towards the peaceful resolution of Kashmir.
Of Course, the continuation of the human rights violations in IOK through cruel and inhuman laws like Public Safety Act (PSA) and armed forces special powers act in violation of international laws and International Convention on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). Indeed unprovoked killings of the innocent Kashmiri people and rape have become a common phenomenon in IOK. In the post Buhran Wani Scenario, there has been a new dimension of human rights violation in Occupied Kashmir, the unprecedented human rights violations pallet guns were used by the Indian Army to disable and paralyze the Kashmiri masses especially the youth.
Unprovoked firing all along LOC and working boundary, killing of hundreds of people so far is yet another aggressive posture of India since last few years. As the Indian oppression in Occupied Kashmir is continuing, India is engineering demographic changes in the entice Occupied Jammu and Kashmir through a gradual process, which of course is a clear violation of Kashmiri Law of the land.
Undoubtedly enough, it is always the Kashmir dispute which blocked the normalization process between Pakistan and India. Resolution of the Kashmir Issue is a key for existence of peace between Pakistan and India and this would guarantee peace in the South Asia as well.
Obviously enough, keeping the Kashmir issue unresolved is indeed a collective failure of the major world powers and UN, and in fact, biggest failure of the International diplomacy and on the other hand the continuous  silence of International community is causing trouble for unarmed Kashmiris in Occupied Kashmir.
