ISLAMABAD: Former Finance Minister (FM) Asad Umar while rejecting the offer by Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan for joining federal cabinet and accepting a new portfolio has said he wants to concentrate on worship and prayers in the holy month of Ramadan rather than placing focus on getting new ministry.
Talking to media men after his meeting with PM Imran Khan he said Wednesday that political affairs were discussed during the meeting.
To a question he said that offer from PM in respect of ministry is still there which was extended to him when he was removed as finance minister.
He said he had no intention to join federal cabinet. It is holy month of Ramadan and in this month I want to concentrate on worship and prayers rather than acquiring new ministry.
When asked will he accept any ministry after month of Ramadan he ruled out the possibility of accepting any portfolio saying the country can be served by staying out of cabinet as well.
