Letter to the Editor,
One of the very reason for the progress of developed nations is that they have inclusive and indiscriminately policy regarding women’s participation in their economy. They recognized women as an integral part of their labor force. As a result, living standard of women in the developed countries is far better than that of developing countries. According to economists, stable and staggering economic growth is not possible and cannot be attained without participation of women in labor force. Women’s inclusion in Pakistan’s labour force is extremely meagre. We cannot bolster our economic growth without involving our half of population. Mere provision of health and education is not sufficient. Effective steps should be taken to increase the women participation in labour force which consists of almost half of the population. Inclusive policies are required to provide much needed space at work places for our country’s female population. Such endeavors could be harbinger of socio-economic prosperity and a gender balanced society.
