Sargodha: Sargodha University and Sargodha Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) on Friday agreed for the economic profiling of Sargodha region to effectively and efficiently take part in national economic development.
Regional Economic Profile will provide an in-depth description of region’s economic structure, performance and potential areas over the past and previous years.
The consensus was developed during a meeting between university delegation led by Dr Ishtiaq Ahmed, the Vice Chancellor Sargodha University and SCCI.
The two sides reviewed the old Memorandum of Understanding and identified possibilities for deepening relations and discussed the possible value edition and on ground implementation.
The other vital point of the meeting was research financing from the SCCI in identifying areas of common interest like ‘Industrial Need Based Projects.’ Both were also agreed for strengthening academia-industry linkages through joint research, sharing of expertise and knowledge.
The two parties agreed to create synergy for achievement of their respective goals and objectives and fulfill their responsibilities for the overall development of the masses.
They would benefit from each other’s human and capital resources through joint efforts while collaborating for achievement of outlined objectives with a view to contribute to national progress and welfare of the region.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ishtiaq Ahmed said that being an agriculture region, Sargodha has huge potential for significantly contributing towards Pakistan’s economic development with higher production of citrus, sugarcane, food processing units, handicrafts, mechanical units and many more. We just need to showcase this region to the world, he added.
