MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) Free Emergency Services facilities have been extended to people in all the districts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir where patients are given medicines free of charge.
This was told in a briefing to 34-member delegation of 46th Common Training Programme by the AJK Special Secretary Health Khalid Mehmood Mirza and director general health Syed Masood Bukhari here on Tuesday.
The delegation was told that there are three medical colleges (Muzaffarabad, Mirpur and Poonch) in the State. Quality medical facilities were available to the people of AJK in state hospitals which are equipped with modern machinery, it was told.
The Special Secretary and DG health further told the delegation that basic health facilities were available at Tehsil, Union Councils and Towns level in AJK. Even these facilities had been extended to people living in far flung areas and areas close to LoC. They said new ambulances were provided to the people at LOC on the direction of AJK Prime Minister.
The delegation was told that patients are taken good care of in all hospitals and BHUs in the state. Medical facilities are also available in Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) apart from CMH Muzaffarabad. Blood transfusion center with modern machinery has been provided in AIMS where patients get the facility of blood transfusion, the delegation was told.
