Islamabad:   (Parliament Times)    The Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM), Abdul Majeed Malik, has said that sham elections in occupied Kashmir cannot be an alternative to the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.

Abdul Majeed Malik talking to Kashmiri refugees based in Gujranwala and Jhelum said that India wanted to enact election drama in the occupied territory to hoodwink the international community but would never succeed in its nefarious designs. He said lacs of Kashmiri people have sacrificed their lived for securing their birthright to self-determination which would not be allowed to go waste.

He said his party, JKPM, has been actively pursuing the Kashmiris’ just cause of freedom for the last 20 years but a former bureaucrat, backed by Indian government, Shah Faesal, has recently launched a new party with the same name to harm the ongoing freedom movement in occupied Kashmir. He warned Shah Faesal to change the name of his party, otherwise, they will expose him at every forum and before the people.

Abdul Majeed Malik urged India to respond positively to Pakistan’s offer for dialogue to resolve all outstanding issues including the Kashmir dispute so that permanent peace could be established in the region.

He demanded of India to give up its intransigence on Kashmir dispute and resolve it in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people.
