MUZAFFARABAD : (Parliament Times) The AJK President, Prime Minsiter and Information Minister issued special messages on March 23 here on Friday.
President Masood observed that March 23 wields great importance in the history of Muslims. It was a day when Muslims of Sub-continent under the dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Jinnah decided to have a separate home land for themselves. On this very day they determined their future goal and ratified it again on July 19, 1947 when they passed resolution of accession to Pakistan. It is an undeniable fact that state of Jammu and Kashmir is geographically, historically, linguistically and culturally natural part of Pakistan. He said for the past several decades’ blood of Muslims was being shed, women humiliated, and political leadership ruthlessly being martyred. He said there was an unending custodial killings by Indian forces. Thousands of people have been rendered disable and massive human rights abuses was a routine thing in the valley.
Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan said March 23 was the outcome of collective thinking. He paid tributes to the struggle of Muslims under founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah who materialized the dream of Allama Muhammad Iqbal by creating the country. He said people struggled hard through a democratic way for a separate homeland for Muslims of Subcontinent. Earlier they were living under the domination of bigoted Hindus, he added. Passion of creating a separate sovereign state for Muslims made them united. They determined their goal in the historic gathering of Muslims in Iqbal Park Lahore on March 23, 1940. He said the ongoing liberation struggle in IOK is in fact struggle for completion of Pakistan.
Information Minister Mushtaq Minhas said that we would have to believe in the essence of resolution of Pakistan and make efforts to turn the country strong and prosperous. He said Pakistan was passing through its difficult times as some elements were out to destabilize the country internally and externally. He said people of Kashmir should carry on struggle for accession to Pakistan. He said our brethren are struggling hard in Occupied Kashmir against illegal occupation of India. He expressed solidarity with the APHC leadership for braving atrocities and human rights abuses.
