MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) The AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan said affected people by Indian forces firing who were temporarily rehabilitated in camps at various parts of the State would soon be moved back to their native places.
Addressing to affectees at Barnala (Chhamb sector) here on Saturday he assured government would provide them better amenities of life at their native places. He said affectees were moved to safer places because of indiscriminate Indian forces firing from across the Line of Control which was deliberately targeting the civilians living close to border.
The premier disclosed that federal government had consented with the 5 billion rupees’ package for affectees, sent to it by state government. We also have released 130 million from state budget for temporary rehabilitation of the affected people, he added.
Mr. Haider said people of AJK living close to LoC displayed great courage and braved the Indian forces firing without losing their spirits. He said coward Indian occupation forces targeted educational institutions, public transport and ambulances of the hospitals. He said people of Azad Kashmir and Occupied Kashmir wholeheartedly supported our armed forces during the mounted escalation between India and Pakistan. He said compensation amount for martyrs, injured and destroyed shops would be enhanced.
The Prime Minister said provision of health and education to the people living on LoC was his government’s top priority. He said he realizes the difficulties of people rehabilitated in temporary camps. However much they are facilitated they can’t be provided an atmosphere like home, he stated. He said community bunkers would be constructed in educational institutions and villages along the LoC. He said first aid posts are being set up in cooperation with community in the regions close to border to enable the affectees to receive first aid in emergencies.
Mr. Haider appreciated the efforts of Ahmed Raza Qadri for activating State Management Disaster Authority and said it was doing pretty well. He said district administration also did very well during the escalation. He said special package will be given to the affected people in the next fiscal year’s budget.
Meanwhile the Prime Minister condoled the death of mother of Managing Director Duniya News Naveed Kashif and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family. He also prayed for the departed soul.
