Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The approving forum of the AKDWP under the chairmanship of the Additional Chief Secretary (Development) conducted its 7th meeting for the financial year 2018-19 here on Tuesday. The representatives of the Federal Government, Secretaries of the respective line departments and officers of the P&DD, Go AJ&K attended the meeting. In the meeting 25 projects costing over PRs.6.307 Billion relating to Industries /AJ&K TEVTA, Communication and works , Forestry, ESMA, Industries /AKSIC, Education , Forestry/Watershed, Agriculture /Livestock, Communication & Works, Physical Planning & Housing , Power and Research & Development sectors / sub sectors were approved.
The two major developmental schemes illumined in the forum relating to Education Sector for providing quality education services aiming at construction of Additional Accommodation Repair and Renovation of Buildings and Provision of Furniture, Boundary Wall and Play Grounds with 16 Higher Secondary Schools of AJK and Acquisition. Of Land for sub campuses of Public sector universities in AJK were considered by the forum. For infrastructural development the projects of communication and works sector were also deliberated upon by the forum envisaging Construction, improvement and metalling, Reconditioning & Resurfacing of Major and Link Roads having length 184Km in the various Districts of AJ&K . The significant project of industries sector that was brought under discussion includes construction of Building for Government College of Technology, District Bhimber. Similarly two other developmental schemes namely improvement and up gradation of greater water supply scheme Kahutta, District Haveli and construction of jail building at DHQ Bhimber were discussed under Physical Planning and Housing Sector. Moreover, three important schemes discussed under Power sector include Expansion of Power Distribution Network in cities/Towns of North Zone in AJ&K & Expansion of Power Distribution Network in Cities /Towns of South Zone in AJ&K and Up gradation of computerized Consumer Billing System of Electricity Department in AJK.
