ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected the petition against releasing the captured Indian pilot.
The petition seeking court’s orders for not releasing Indian pilot Abhinandan came up for hearing before IHC Friday.
At the inception of hearing Chief Justice of IHC Athar Minallah inquired from the petitioner what fundamental rights in respect of him have been affected due to release of Indian pilots. Can we raise question on the patriotism of our elected representatives. Prime Minister (PM) made announcement for returning captured pilot to India in the parliament. This is policy matter. As per Supreme Court (SC) 2014 decision we cannot interfere in foreign policy.
He remarked that PM Imran Khan made announcement for freeing Indian pilot in parliament and no member raised objection over it at that time. Parliament is a supreme institution, it should be respected.
The IHC dismissed the petition declaring it in- fructuous.
