Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday, announced that he had issued instructions for registered Afghan refugees residing in Pakistan to be allowed to open bank accounts.
“From now onwards they can participate in the formal economy of the country,” Imran khan said, he concluded by saying “This should have been done a long time ago,” Khan concluded.
It has been old demands of the Afgan refugees as they were interested in playing their due role in the economic development of Pakistan. This decision is welcomed by the vast number of Afghan Refugees who are now in Pakistan and their second generation took birth here …
“We were deprived of the basic Human Rights, now it seems that the new Government of Pakistan Tehreek – e – Insaf is serious in resolving our reservation” said a migrated Mr. Rasool Muhammad living in Islamabad for more than 25 Years.
He was Optimistic that it is a good start towards their recognisation. They consider Pakistan as their homeland. Rasool Further said “Refuges want the citizenship as their new generation was born Here and they have no identity”
