Muzaffarabad: Terming the gang-rape of Kashmiri women by Indian occupation forces at Kunan Poshpura village as a blot on the face of Indian army the vice Chairman International forum for justice and Human rights Mushtaq ul Islam on Saturday said that people of Jammu and Kashmir would never forgotten the tragic dreadful incident in which hundreds of women were gang-raped and men subjected to horrific torture by drunken Indian occupation forces way back in 1991.
“The atrocities and gang-rape of Kashmiri women is a big question mark on India and its so-called democracy, we can still feel the pain”, Islam said while addressing a protest rally held under the aegis of International Forum for Justice and Human rights. The participants of the rally chanted slogans against Indian atrocities in held Kashmir. The protesters also appealed the United Nations to take effective notice of the prevailing situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion Islam said that gang rapes and harassment on Kashmiri women are considered as war weapons of Indian armed forces. “Thousands of women were raped, but international community remained silent spectator on it” Mushtaq lamented.
He appealed United Nations to conduct an impartial and un-biased investigation in Kunan Posh Pura, Kupwara incident.
He also condemned the brutal attacks on Kashmiri students by Hindu extremists and crack down on Hurriyat leadership and other youngsters in Indian Occupied Kashmir.
Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmed Ghazali on the occasion, said that the Kashmiri students have been expelled from different universities in India and beaten by other students because of their identity as Kashmiri especially after Pulwama incident.
He said that all Kashmiri who are working in Indian cities are not safe, “United Nations must complete its promise of plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir”, Ghazali stated.
“United Nation must take stern notice of deteriorating situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir and must intervene to maintain peace in the region” Uzair Ghazali added.
Professor Nusrat Razzaq, Usman Ali Hashim including students Taskeen Butt, Aroosa Altaf, Jannat, Iqra Usman and Ghazala addressed on the occasion.
