RAWALAKOT: (Parliament Times) Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’ National Party’s leader Zia Ahmed Shah has said that martyrdom of Maqbool Butt gave a new direction to Kashmir liberation movement.

In his statement on Thursday he said that people from both sides of divided valley would pay glowing tribute to the great Kashmiri leader on his martyrdom anniversary on 11th February.

Reiterating the demand for return of mortal remains of both martyrs, Zia said, “India must bear in mind that no law in the world justifies harboring any enmity towards the slain and to return the mortal remains to families is a moral responsibility levied upon it.”

He said Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru are immortal heroes of the Kashmir’s freedom movement and Kashmiri nation would never forget their heroes.

The JKPNP leader told media that all arrangements for observing Maqbool Butt Shaheed’s martyrdom anniversary have been finalized.

He said seminars, conferences, rallies and protest demonstrations will be held at all ten districts of the state to pay homage to the matchless sacrifice of Maqbool Butt Shaheed for the independence of Kashmir.

Zia Ahmed Shah told media that 11th February will be observed as `Youm-e-Tajdeed-e-Ehad’ (Reaffirmation of the pledge) with the commitment to complete the mission of our revered martyrs.

He urged the Kashmiri youth to follow the footprints of martyrs like Maqbool Butt Shaheed to achieve the mission of the freedom of Kashmiri land.

The JKPNP leader strongly condemned the Indian state terrorism in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and urged international community to take serious notice of the deteriorating human rights situation in the held valley.

He also appealed United Nations to implement its resolutions on Kashmir granting Kashmiris their internationally recognized right to self determination.
