LAHORE: Former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif is likely to be granted bail on Wednesday on medical grounds.
The petition filed by Nawaz Sharif seeking his release on bail on medical grounds will come up for heating on Wednesday before 2- member bench of Islamabad High Court (IHC) comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiani.
Possibility is there he will be granted bail due to his health condition.
The court during previous hearing had issued notice to NAB and Superintendent Kot Lakhpat jail.
Nawaz Sharif took the plea in his petition he was suffering from heart disease and he has also contracted kidney disease. He had gone heart surgery three times, therefore, his conviction be suspended and he be released on bail till the decision of IHC court on his appeal plea.
It was further contended in the application that Nawaz Sharif needed special treatment as per medical board report. Medical board recommended to shift him to hospital.
It is worth mentioning that Nawaz Sharif was shifted to Services Hospital two days earlier where his treatment is underway.
