Rawalpindi: Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has imposed a ban on storing milk in ice-factories across Punjab including Rawalpindi.
DG Food Authority said that a complete ban has been imposed on storage of milk on the name of ice-factories adding that acquiring separate license in this regard has been made mandatory.
He said no permission will be given to store milk in ice blocks.
He said Anti-health elements supply the contaminated milk to other cities after making their blocks. Now it has been made mandatory to install chiller and for storing milk and securing license for chillers.
He said indiscriminate actions will be taken against those involved in the storage of milk on name of ice factories besides stopping their production.
Factories will be sealed upon identification of contaminated milk as more amendments are being made in the laws of Punjab Food Authority to make sure the availability of safe food to the general public, he added.
