Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek –e- Insaf (PTI) has withdrawn its petition filed against PPP President and MNA Asif Ali Zardari in the ECP seeking his disqualification.
PTI member Sindh Assembly Khurrum Sher Zaman had filed a petition seeking disqualification of PPP President Asif Ali Zardari in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on December 20.
The petitioner in his petition prayed the ECP that Zardari should be disqualified upon concealing his apartment in New York.
Khurrum Zaman now withdrew his petition against Zardari saying that he wanted to approach Supreme Court of Pakistan against former President.
Zaman claimed that he has obtained such evidences that will only be presented at higher forum.
It is vital to mention here that five-member bench of the ECP after reviewing plea against Asif Ali Zardari approved it for preliminary hearing however now this petition has been withdrawn by the PTI.
