Rawalakot: (S. A. Haidri) Jammu Kashmir Peoples Party candidate Sardar Ibrahim Khan (Son of Late Sardar Khalid Ibrahim) won the by-election of Legislative Assembly 19 Sudhnoti 3. According to the results issued by returning officer later on Sunday, Hassan Ibrahim got 17590 votes from 169 polling stations, while Ex-President and Ex-Prime Minister AJK Sardar Yaqoob Khan (PPP candidate) secured 16776 votes. Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz despite of being incumbent government in AJK remained unable to win by-election on its foundation day and its candidate Sardar Tahir Anwer got 10255 votes. LA-19 was won by Late Sardar Khalid Ibrahim in general election of 2016 and became vacant after his sad demise on 4th November 2018.
Polling turn out in the constituency was more than 52 percent despite of being icy cold weather, out of 92427 voters, more than 48 thousand voters casted their votes. The competition between Sardar Hassan Ibrahim and Sardar Yaqoob Khan remained head to head until final results, the difference of winning votes was of 814 votes in total 169 polling stations between two candidates. Chief Election Commission AJK Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mughal also visited the constituency on Election Day and expressed his full satisfaction on the procedures being taken by the Election Commission besides security measures and role of concerned administration.
