The Honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan,
Imran Khan
The Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

On behalf of Gilgit Baltistan, I would like to extend my sincerest congratulations on your appointment as Prime Minister the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, following Pakistan’s historic national level elections.
As you assume leadership in Pakistan, we are writing to seek your support on some key issues we hope your government will address as a priority. We also welcome promise of manifesto (PTI recognizes the commitment of the people of Gilgit Baltistan (GB) to Pakistan, which has been exemplary and is reflected in their sacrifices. We will ensure that the people of GB get their due political and economic rights.) of Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf GE2018 that would help to enable development for Giglit Baltistan Constitutional rights.
Due to disputed treaty, an estimated 2.5 million people are forced to live without recognition and at risk of statelessness since 71 years. Despite of promises of reform by federal Government of Pakistan, Whole region are unable to access their voting for National Assembly & Senate of Pakistan but recently Supreme Court of Pakistan has given voting rights to oversees Pakistan and transgender.
2.5 Million people of this disputed land have no way out but expect and request Your Excellency to notice; metaphorically, Gilgit Baltistan still deprived despite Judgment on Supreme Court dated 28 May 1999 in favor of Gilgit Baltistan locals. I will share you the ruling that already had been passed by the honorable supreme court of Pakistan on 28 May 1999. “Federation of Pakistan to initiate appropriate administrative and legislative measure within a period of six months from May 28,1999 to make necessary amendments in the Pakistan constitutions to ensure that the people of Northern areas (Gilgit Baltistan) enjoy their fundamental rights to be governed through and independent judiciary inter alia for enforcement of their fundamental rights guaranteed under the Pakistan constitution”. But the judgment still ambiguous since 19 years.
Our young Soldier sacrificed their lives in Kargil while fighting against Indian troops, Giyari Sector, Khyber Agency against fighting terrorists and Waizrstan also. When these youngsters get martyred, their dead bodies are brought to wrap in Pakistan’s flag. When Samina Baig climbed the highest peak of the world and Hasan Sadpara (late) ascended the K-2 then everyone raised with their name as Pakistani. When we talk about constitutional rights then we are neglected. Despite of calling CPEC gateway, there is no a single one is mentioned in the official documents for Gilgit Baltistan, although the region offers more than 600KM of land for the corridor. Many political party leader of Pakistan had promised representation for the Gilgit Baltistan in National Assembly and Senate. But all talk came to nought.
We urge Federal government by amending Article 1(2) and other relevant provisions and clauses od the constitution for constitutional rights for Gilgit Baltistan “Also need amendment in article 41, 51, 59,175 will give due representation in the national Assembly, Senate and Supreme court of Pakistan. Honorable Chief Justice, I urge you to please give justice to Gilgit Baltistan region they dire need of Constitutional status.
Regards, Ijaz Hussain Shigri
Executive Member National Youth Assembly Pakistan.
