It is undeniable fact that wise states strive hard to attract international tourists towards them and promote religious tourism in order to boost their economies. As a result, they are more economically advanced. Despite having rich sacred sites of most practiced religions including Budhism, Sikhism and Hinduism Pakistan is lagging behind when it comes to promoting religious tourism. It is matter of serious concern for Pakistan as it is going through multiple crisis including foreign debts. Boosting tourism not only helps Pakistan paying foreign debts, generate economy but also it will assist projecting Pakistan’s soft image worldwide. Lessons should be learned from different states in this regard. I believe Pakistan is quite safer now. Responsibility lies on the shoulder of current government to promote tourism internationally. Additionally, soft policies should be made for religious pilgrims coming from abroad and visa process be made easy.
