By Dr. Abdul Razak Shaikh,

Our Moon, God created it. The man reached it. The Moon is just one of many proofs of God’s special creation involving the planet Earth. In fact, the Moon’s presence and purpose are among many things that cannot be explained by happenstance or evolution. After all, scientists tell us that the material the Moon is made from is as old as the solar system.
The moon-an object of wonder since the dawn of mankind. It lights up the night sky like nothing else in the heavens and appears as if it regularly changes shape. As we shall see, it is well designed for life on Earth.
China plans to launch MAN-MADE MOON capable of lighting up 1,960 square miles.
“By the light of the silvery moon” may have a whole new meaning for one Chinese city in 2020 when an illumination satellite, also referred to as an “artificial moon,” is launched into space.
Scientists are planning to hang the MAN-MADE MOON above the city of Chengdu, one of the most populous cities in Western China.
The man-made lunar orb is designed to complement the moon at night. It is eight times brighter than the real moon and will cast a “dusk-like glow” over the city.
The artificial moon will be capable of lighting up an area as large as 50 miles in diameter, which is a total area of more than 1,960 square miles, but with an illumination range that is so precise, it can be controlled within a few feet. The amount of light can also be affected by weather, with less light during periods of overcast, for example. The man-made moon is actually a satellite carrying a huge space mirror used to reflect sunlight back down towards Earth. The mirror can be adjusted for luminosity and can be completely turned off when needed.
Scientific evidence suggests there are negative and even deadly effects on many. The satellite is expected to be put on an orbit within 310 miles from Earth, quite a bit closer than the actual moon, which orbits more than 230,000 miles from Earth.
Scientific evidence suggests there are negative and even deadly effects on many creatures, including amphibians, birds, mammals, insects, and plants, associated with artificial light at night.
Lights can draw and disorient hatchling turtles, night flying moths, frogs and amphibians. Artificial light affects migration, navigation, plant blooming and when trees lose their leave.
The officials in the southwestern Chinese city of Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, have unveiled a science fiction-like plan to launch what’s known as an illumination satellite, or “artificial moon,” in two years means 2020.
It also reported that the illumination satellite would be designed to complement the moon at night, with its own brightness eight times that of the earth’s natural satellite, and “bright enough to replace street lights in the city.”
The idea of an “artificial moon” came from a French artist, who imagined hanging a necklace made of mirrors above the earth, which could reflect sunshine through the streets of Paris all year round.
Although there are many different ideas on how and when the moon formed, no scientist was there at the time. So we should rely on the witness of one who was there, and who has revealed the truth in Genesis.
And God said, let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.
And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night, he made the stars also.
This passage clearly states that God made the moon on the same day as the sun and stars—the fourth day of Creation Week. It was also created one day after the plants. This order of events is impossible to reconcile with evolutionary billions of years ideas.
The main purpose of Moon is to light up the night. The moon reflects the sun’s light on to us even when the sun is on the other side of the earth. The amount of reflected light depends on the moon’s surface area, so we are fortunate to have a moon that is so large. It is over a quarter of Earth’s diameter—far larger in comparison with its planet than any other in the solar system. Also, if it were much smaller, it would not have enough gravity to maintain its spherical shape.
Another reason for the moon is to show the seasons. The moon orbits the earth roughly once a month causing regular phases in a 29½ day cycle. So calendars could be made, so people could plant their crops at the best time of the year.
An important feature is that the moon always keeps the same face towards the earth. If different parts were visible at different times, the moon’s brightness would depend on which part was pointing towards the earth. Then the 29½ day cycle would be far less obvious.
The Man-Made Moon will definitely benefit the area of China but it is also needed for big cities of our country, where street light is nothing and crime level is more, therefore this artificial moon may help in lighting and reducing the rate of Crime.
