RAWALPINDI: Teachers of 4050 primary schools which have been handed over to Education Foundation all over Punjab province including Rawalpindi have voiced strong protest over non disbursement of salary to them since the last six months.
According to media reports Non payment of salary to these male and female teachers have compounded their economic woes as this apathy on the part of government for keeping them deprived of their salaries has put their families on the brink of starvation. Even the street shop keepers have refused to give any commodity to them on credit.
The accounts office has withheld their salaries for want of funds.
The teachers associations have demanded of government to immediately release their salaries to these teachers otherwise the teachers community will be forced to go to streets.
