Islamabad: Traffic jam, roads block, metro shut, people stranded, and administration disappeared was commonly being observed in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad soon after the Supreme Court verdict acquitting Asia Bibi in a blasphemy case.Following the decision, angry protestors supported by many religio-political parties appeared on twin cities roads and staged protest demonstrations against acquittal of Asia Bibi from the blasphemy case on Wednesday.
The protestors blocked all major roads of twin cities, including Faizabad, Expressways, and Kashmir Highway. The angry protestors were chanting slogans. They said the protest will continue till the overturn of the SC verdict. All provincial governments had imposed ban on pillion riding in Karachi for 10 days, aimed protests across city after the Supreme Court verdict acquitting Asia Bibi in a blasphemy case.
