RAWALPINDI: Spokesman of Cantonment Board Rawalpindi Qaisar Mehmood has said that cleanliness week is in full swing in the Cantt area, which will be continued for about two weeks. Its purpose is to make the masses aware of cleanliness. President Cantt Board Brig. Shahzad and Cantt Executive Officer has admired the staff of Cantt Board while Chief Sanitary Inspector Waris Bhatty and concerned sanitary inspectors and supervisors were also present. President Cantt Board has also visited in Range Road, Misrial Road, Dhoke Sayedan,Abid Majid Road and Iqbal Colony and shown satisfaction of maintenance of cleanliness in these areas. From the Cantt areas about 476 tons of garbage were disposed off.
Spokesman of Cantt Board further informed that cleanliness operation against 15 shops, 200 illegal sheds is continued on daily basis. Earlier, shopkeepers and notices were issued to illegal encroachments to remove their illegal occupation. On the other side of the Cant areas including Sadar, Chungi No.22, Misrial road, Tench Bhatta, Bakra Mandi, Ilaha Abad, Churr anti-encroachment operation was carried out, whereby seven trucks were ceased and illegal material was confiscated.
