Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The AJK Chief Justice, Justice Ibrahim Zia has said that Supreme Court is the supreme Judicial Institute of justice in the State.
Addressing a function of new judicial year 2018-19 here on Monday he said the basic duty of judiciary is to ensure enforcement of law in the society without any discrimination. He said the strength, stability, peace, development and welfare of states and societies is conditional to the system of providing effective, strong and prompt justice to the people.
The CJ urged lawyers, media, police and administration to play their role for effective system of provision of justice in accordance with modern needs. “It is obligatory upon Judges and Qazis to bring about their best capabilities to dispense with justice” he said. He assured reforms in the judiciary system of the State for which a 15-point suggestions and directions have been presented by him.
Registrar AJK SC Sardar Muhammad Rahim, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ch. Javed Akhtar, Additional Chief Secretary General Farhat Ali Mir, Secretary Information Mohtarma Midhat Shahzad, Secretary Law Irshad Ahmed Qureshi were presented the annual report of AJK Supreme Court.
The function was attended by Judges, Bureaucrats, lawyers, journalists and judicial officers.
